Celebrating Sheffield Street Art

Why..?

I'm a blog designer. I seek out licensed images of a particular theme to fill out my generic templates and showcase their design. Recently, I've been using shots of interesting street art (Banksy is a particular favourite).

The theme of this post was not pre-motivated. Rather, it happened by accident while I was seeking out filler images to showcase the potential of SR's slideshow when used in a Blogger-powered design.

Driving around town I spotted some awesome pieces emblazoned on walls and concrete which I yearned to know more about. So my Flickr searches were biased towards images from my home town. Curiosity and a helping hand from Google shaped this post with the bonus of a pretty good-looking showcase to boot!

So... in answer to your question: "I wrote this post for the sake of it!". Because I wanted to.

Not to prove anything. Nor to pass comment on the social infrastructure and subcultures of the city in which I live.

I wrote it to satiate my own curiosity, as a post to inspire me in future design projects, and because I like the work of the artists showcased in this page.

Like it or not, it's here now, and it works damn well to demonstrate CSS, web design and slideshows!
